Safety/Health

All guests should arrive at the resort on leash or in a carrier, and have proof of current vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian on file prior to arrival. Required vaccinations are:

Dogs:
Rabies
DHLPP or current Titers blood test report for DHLPP
Bordetella

Cats:
Rabies
FCRCP (Feline distemper)

Upon arrival each guest will receive a pre-entry screening. Our staff will conduct a visual check of each guest to include eyes, teeth, ears, skin and coat. Please bring any ongoing medical issues to our attention when checking in. All guests should be free from external parasites (fleas). If during the pre-entry screening fleas are discovered, the guest will need to receive treatment. The cost for treatment will be included in the final bill.

The Paws Resort features the latest in kennel safety equipment and practices, including:

  • Complete enclosure with commercial strength fencing.
  • Internal double fencing so that our guests can visit with each other, but never be nose to nose to prevent the spreading of germs or intimidation by stronger guests.
  • A minimum of 3 doors between each guest and the outside world. Doors are routinely checked throughout the day.
  • All guests are leashed when not in their "home" or individualized play area.
  • Guests on nature strolls, power walks or jogs are double leashed to prevent them from running off should they spot an irresistible treasure to chase.
  • Artificial turf with a natural grass feel covers all shared play areas. It is "foot friendly" and easily cleaned and disinfected for odor control and elimination of health concerns arising from shared space between guests.
  • A quarantine area is available to provide immediate medical attention and to isolate a sick guest from others.
  • Our Chainlink Sani-Kennel system features quality, hand-laced mesh construction with patented aluminum isolation panels in the division walls and channels that seal to the floor to isolate each guest’s "business."
